NK cells (Natural Killer Cells) are the immune cells responsible for the primary immunity in human body.It is a fourth-generation anti-cancer treatment agent that can overcome the limitations of immune checkpoint inhibitors, and the research and development about these cells are being actively conducted worldwide.Our DR-NK cells are the only artificial NK cells developed through the direct differentiation from blood cells, rather than from natural NK cells or NK cells derived from IPSCs.

    · This is a natural killer cell (NK Cell) developed from the direct differentiation method that uses Yamanaka Factor but does not go through the IPS step from blood (PBMC).

Dual functions of proliferation/immune regulation (cytokine secretion) & killing activity

General NK cells have the ability to regulate the immune and inflammatory responses, but their ability to directly attack the cancer cells is poor.Therefore, the separate killing ability activation step is required, but it has the characteristic that when the activation function increases, the immune control ability decreases again.However, it can be confirmed that CEFObio's NK cells are CD56bright/CD16+ NK cells.This means that when administered in vivo, it has the ability to kill and at the same time induces the participation of other immune cells in the immune response through immune regulation (dual function).

  • Killing activity

    · Killing ability was verified using NK92 cells as a control.

    · NK92 cells show about 30% killing ability even at 5:1

    · On the other hand, in the case of CEFObio NK cells, the killing ability is close to 95% at 5:1.

    · The level of IFN-g secretion was checked to verify the immune modulating ability.

    · While NK92 cells increased approximately 2-fold compared to before stimulation,
    CEFObio NK cells increased 200-fold.

    *E:T ratio is the ratio of target cells (cancer cells) to effectors (NK cells).
    The experiment was conducted by increasing the ratio of NK cells up to 0.25, 1, 2.5, and 5 folds to 1 cancer cell.

As a result of confirming the tumor growth inhibition ability of NK cells in theMouse solid cancer model using the human colon cancer cells, similar results to the first-generation anticancer drug (Doxorubicin) were obtained at high concentrations.
